Concordance was the tool used to unmask the anonymous author of Primary Colors. The Concordances and Corpora site discusses how computerized concordances work and presents information on several programs (www.georgetown.edu/cball/corpora/tutorial3.html). You can learn more about concordances by connecting to the Web Concordances and Workbook Web site at www.dundee.ac.uk/english/wics/wics.htm, a site in Dundee, Scotland, that includes concordances of selected poems of Shelley, Coleridge, Keats, Blake, and other poets. You might want to read "End of the Game" by L. Reilbstein (Newsweek, July 29, 1996), which describes the controversy over the authorship of Primary Colors.
