The Long Wait for E-mail Security   This article from PC Week points out that two competing standards may be slowing down the move toward more secure e-mail transmissions. The two standards are S/MIME, backed by Microsoft and Netscape, and PGP/MIME, backed by Qualcomm. The article also discusses why solving e-mail security issues has been difficult and compares the S/MIME and PGP/MIME approaches.
