Although communications have become an integral part of computing, many computer dictionaries do not yet include the most current communications terms. On the Internet you'll find several good sources that explain communications terminology. For basic definitions, connect to the General Communications Glossary at www.mendonet.com/telecom/glossary/index.html. You'll find another basic glossary at the Sprint Web site, www.sprint.com/sprint/annual/is_96/GLOSS/ p_42main.html. If you can't find what you need at those sites, you'll find a great set of links to other technical glossaries and dictionaries in Alex's Giant Glossary Listing at www.iserv.net/~alexx/glossary.htm. A good glossary of cable TV terms is found at videotron.ab.ca/Technology/glossary.html, the Web site hosted by Videotron Communications Ltd. Finally, for those difficult-to-find definitions of satellite communications terms, check out www.gl.umbc.edu/~cellis3/gloss2.html.
