The Web site www.lib.mtu.edu/jrvp/instruction/research/
careerjob/careerjob.htm
is a good place to get some tips on job hunting. When you register for the High-Tech Career Alert at the HiTechCareers site www.hitechcareer.com, you will receive weekly e-mail of jobs in your career field. The comprehensive CareerBuilder site at www.careerbuilder.com contains tips for creating your resume, job listings, an interactive page that helps you compare the cost of living for different cities, and tips on successful job interviews. Another comprehensive site, CareerMagazine's www.careermag.com, includes job listings, a resume bank, employer profiles, and products and services to help you manage your career. One of the largest sources of career resources is the Monster Board at www.monster.com. Newer, but very active career sites include www.headhunter.net and www.tcm.com. If you want inspiration, rent the video Triumph of the Nerds. Information and script for this video are available at www.pbs.org/nerds.
