The Internet Public Library   The Internet Public Library is just that--a Web-based library with a public library mission. It has a broad and rich collection of resources, including reference, exhibits, magazines and serials, newspapers, online texts, and Web searching. This site does not have an online catalog, per se, but performs a function similar to that of a library catalog in organizing, classifying and describing information resources available on the Web.  Read the section "About the IPL" to learn how the Internet Public Library came to be--it's an interesting story.
